Description
The Hugo is a refreshing, slightly sweet aperitif that originated in South Tyrol, Italy, and has become one of the most popular summer drinks across Europe in recent years. It is the elegant and floral alternative to the often bitter Aperol Spritz. The combination of sparkling Prosecco, the sweet aroma of elderflower syrup, and fresh mint is unbeatable on warm days. A splash of soda water adds extra fizziness. The Hugo is easy to prepare, looks beautiful in the glass, and embodies pure joie de vivre.
Preparation
- Fill a large wine glass with plenty of ice cubes.
- Gently clap the mint leaves between your hands to release the aromas and add them to the glass.
- Pour the elderflower syrup over the mint.
- Carefully top up with Prosecco.
- Add a small splash of soda water.
- Stir gently with a bar spoon, add the lime slices, and serve immediately.
