Description
The Pink Lady is a classic Prohibition-era cocktail known for its beautiful pink color and velvety texture. It is essentially a Gin Sour where part of the simple syrup is replaced with grenadine, giving it its characteristic color and a subtle, fruity sweetness. The egg white is crucial for the luxurious foam head and smooth consistency. A timeless, elegant, and surprisingly balanced drink.
Preparation
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
- Perform a "Dry Shake" (without ice) for 15 seconds to create a dense foam.
- Fill the shaker with ice and shake again very vigorously ("Wet Shake") until it is ice-cold.
- Strain the contents through a fine sieve into a pre-chilled coupe glass.
- Garnish with a high-quality cocktail cherry.
