Description

The Singapore Sling is one of the most famous national cocktails in the world, invented around 1915 by bartender Ngiam Tong Boon at the Long Bar of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. There are countless variations, but the original recipe is a complex symphony of flavors. Gin forms the base, which is complemented by the sweetness of cherry brandy, Bénédictine, and grenadine, as well as the fruitiness of pineapple and lime. A dash of bitters rounds it all off. It is a tropical, refreshing, and historic long drink.

Preparation

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
  2. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously.
  4. Strain the contents into the prepared glass.
  5. Garnish with a piece of pineapple and a cocktail cherry.
